Yang Ming Line starts a second string to Istanbul
Yang Ming Line has added a new service called Asia Black Sea Express (ABX) to its existing service, Aegean Sea Direct Express, which connects Istanbul to the ports in the Far East. This new service increases capacity from the Far East by adding a second string that calls at Istanbul in the same week.
Yang Ming Line has a fleet of 84 vessels with 76 container vessels and 8 bulk cargo vessels. After starting an Aegean Sea Direct Express (ADX) service between the Far East and Istanbul two years ago, the company has now added a new service in September called the Asia Black Sea Express (ABX) with a final port of call in the Black Sea. This new service will transport goods directly from the Far East to Istanbul and ports in the Black Sea, resulting in a total of two services per week from the Far East.
Service on specific days Vessels on the Asia Black Sea Express will sail from Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Nansha and Port Kelang and travel non-stop to Istanbul, followed by calls at Constanta and Ilyichevsk, after which the vessel will return directly to Shanghai Port. Seven 4,000 TEU vessels have been assigned to the service, which offers weekly shipments on fixed day basis, a very important factor for |
